SFWDA delegates meet with the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest to discuss current RTP projects plans for 2016

CONF-logo

A number of SFWDA members had a very open dialogue today with the Recreational team from the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest to discuss current RTP projects, plans for 2016 and facilitate the introductions of Jay Bird, Past President SFWDA and GBR, as our Georgia Co-Trails Representative; and Ken Sutz, long standing SFWDA and GBR member, as our Georgia Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Representative. As a critical OHV Stakeholder, we want to thank both Jay Bird and Ken Sutz for volunteering for these critical roles as Dave Logan moves on with new professional commitments with Omix-ADA (Rugged Ridge), one of our supporting SFWDA Business Members.

Dave Logan is retiring after a long term as Georgia RTP Representative

We also want to thank Dave Logan for his volunteer commitments since 2008 in representing the Georgia Bounty Runners and our association, SFWDA, in both of these roles. Dave has also been critical in the development of our SFWDA Educational Video series over the last few years and will continue to serve as a resource and adviser. Thank you Dave Logan for your service.

Fall Meet & Ride at Choccolocco Mountain OHV Park

Choccolocco

Beautiful weather, great people, great turnout! We graciously thank the whole Warner Robbins Jeep Club for all their effort hosting this successful event. We filled a trailer full of toys for the tots and helped support a local OHV park, all while having a GREAT time! Be sure to join us at the next Meet and Ride.

From Oscar Indreland ; President of Warner Robbins Jeep Club :
"On behalf of the Warner Robins Jeep Club it truly was our pleasure to be apart of this. Seems everyone had a great time. Few broken parts here and there but that's part of the game. We ended up with nearly 100 vehicles and almost double that in people. The WRJC had a blast and we hope everyone else did too."

Dixie Run 29 is a Huge Success, Thank You to everyone for your support!

Dixie Run 29 is a Huge Success.
Thank You to everyone for your support!

DR29

That's right, now that we have reviewed the results of the event we can say for sure that Dixie Run 29 was a hit. We broke almost all prior records for this long time event. With just under 800 total attendees and 487 rigs we have pushed this event to another level raising more money than ever before. Not only did we raise a considerable amount of money for our Association we have also added many new members including 15 new Premium Members. Thank you to each and every one of you who came out and enjoyed Golden Mountain Park together as part of the SFWDA family.

What will the money raised do for our sport and community, well that is actually up to you all; our loyal members, clubs, and OHV parks. That's right, the SFWDA is a non-profit organization and as such we have a Grant Program for all active members to utilize. These funds are offered in grants up to as much as $5,000 per applicant for a variety of uses. Apply soon and get your your group involved. Grants are useful to educate enthusiasts, maintain and develop  OHV trails, construct OHV park improvements, and more.

In case you missed it or you would like to check out photos from the event and look for your rig, take a peek at our Official Photographer for the event Image Off Road Photography. These great folks have provided hundreds of images for us all to browse and purchase.

You can purchase directly from this link, including digital downloads. Enjoy!

Dixie Run 29 Photo Albums are available to download NOW! 3 Whole Albums worth

First off, I want to say how thankful we are for all the effort from Image Off Road Photography. Christy Mote and Thomas Boyd have demonstrated tremendous effort at our  most recent SFWDA events.  Our core mission is Conservation * Education * Recreation. Recreation is the payoff and the reason why we all work so hard to maintain the right to access trails and why we work so hard to maintain our OHV trails. Often when out wheeling it's hard to get good pictures and rarely can you even get a good selfie while on the trail. Photographs help us to keep those memories forever, which is something that often run astray as we age. Well, Image Off Road Photography (IORP) has done it once again. Go ahead right now and check out the 3 whole albums she uploaded for us to peruse. Then be sure and order a few photos, a collage, or maybe even a wall print from her directly online. Christy and her team do this all without compensation from us, so please show your appreciation for their talent, time and effort and buy some images. You won't regret it and then you also wont forget it. )

You can purchase directly from this link, including digital downloads. Enjoy!

Rock Corps "Crawl-O-Ween " Ride for Autism" & 5th annual 4x4 Toy Run

 Rock Corps " Crawl-O-Ween "
Ride for Autism & 5th annual 4x4 Toy Run

Let's all show our support for a great event from Chip Price, Tony Wilson, and our friends with the Rock Corp 4x4 club in Marion, NC.

This year Rock Corps 4X4 will be presenting to the public for the first time, our newly acquired property. We call it, The S.H.O.P. , which stands for, Sugar Hill Offroad Park.
100 acres of wheeling and camping.
As for the past many years, we have had a toy run to aid the McDowell County Social Services with gifts and of Money. This year, we will be doing the same. Also we will be making a donation to Autism. The land owner we lease from has a son with autism and that was one of our agreements when we leased the property, was that we were going to donate to this. so, TWO great causes that our wheeling will benefit!
As you see the dates, you can see where it just so happens to fall on Halloween. We will be searching for a sponsor for a best costume! We would also be interested in a sponsor for a Truck and treat event for the kids, Saturday evening!

Mark your calendars
Get your rigs ready

Let's have some fun, and help two very worthy causes!
