We just received notice that a fellow family member to SFWDA; Depsy LaMar, a loving wife mother, and part of our southern family has passed away. Mike LaMar is a retired US Marine Corp veteran (Sargent Major, I believe). He lost his wife of 20 years this past Sunday. He has children who are 13 and 7 years old. He has been struggling to make ends meet on his retirement pay while running a startup business as a real estate home inspector. He had no life insurance on his wife, so he has been hit pretty hard financially with funeral costs etc.
Mike has been a longstanding member of Rocket City Rock Crawlers (RCRC), and for many years while stationed here in Huntsville he coordinated the club meetings at the Marine Corp Reserve Center here in town. He left and spent several years at 29 palms Ca before retiring and returning to Huntsville.
The funeral home site is here:

A donation site is setup here:
https://www.youcaring.com/depsy-michael-kayla-ethan-lamar-438074/donate#wp
RCRC 4X4 club has a motion before the board to donate a substantial amount toward covering the funeral costs and I suspect the vote will pass with no issue.
Wide Open Design is excited to attend the 29th Annual Dixie Run as a vendor. This is one of our favorite events of the year. We will have all our latest products on display at our tent with a bunch of parts and accessories for sale. A lot of our parts are too big or too custom to bring with us, so we are offering a show special for anything purchased at the event we will ship for free! Everything from fabrication tabs and brackets to complete engines and axle assemblies, we have it all. Stop by our tent, grab some stickers, and check out our latest products on display for your trail rig.
Check out the September SFWDA Newsletter now, and if you didn't already receive it then be sure to sign up online today.

Let's give a warm welcome to our newest supporting Business Member.
Miracle Truss Buildings was born out of the desire to supply a better structural product and a better customer experience than what was available previously in the DIY steel building market. The owner has been in the steel building business going on 2 decades and as a Veteran of the Armed Forces he believes that it’s Miracle Truss’s duty to offer a great product at a reasonable price – instead of the cheapest product with no customer service backbone.
Hangars, Garages (perfect for car lifts with the raised ceiling), Homes, Storage, Workshops, and Commercial applications to name a few. With the Do it yourself (DIY) design you can bolt the building together yourself, with friends and family, or hire a local contractor to easily erect the structure. Save cost on labor and get a better building by building with open web steel trusses.
Let's give a warm welcome to our two newest SFWDA members.
In 2015 we celebrate 25 years in business - 25 years of helping our fellow rodders, our friends in racing and off-roading, find painless solutions to their automotive electrical needs. What started out as a single idea about a simplified way to wire a street rod has evolved into what is today a multi-faceted company with sixty-six employees in a modern 45,000 square foot facility manufacturing over 500 products for show cars, dragsters, rock crawlers and everything in between.
The Central North Carolina 4x4 Club is an incorporated, non-profit organization open to all makes and models of 4WD vehicles. The club is based in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area, but we have membership in NC, SC, and VA.
Our members range from first time 4-wheelers to seasoned veterans. Our rigs range from show-room stock to locked, lifted, and otherwise "loaded for bear."
Rock Corps " Crawl-O-Ween "
Ride for Autism & 5th annual 4x4 Toy Run
Let's all show our support for a great event from Chip Price, Tony Wilson, and our friends with the Rock Corp 4x4 club in Marion, NC.
This year Rock Corps 4X4 will be presenting to the public for the first time, our newly acquired property. We call it, The S.H.O.P. , which stands for, Sugar Hill Offroad Park.
100 acres of wheeling and camping.
As for the past many years, we have had a toy run to aid the McDowell County Social Services with gifts and of Money. This year, we will be doing the same. Also we will be making a donation to Autism. The land owner we lease from has a son with autism and that was one of our agreements when we leased the property, was that we were going to donate to this. so, TWO great causes that our wheeling will benefit!
As you see the dates, you can see where it just so happens to fall on Halloween. We will be searching for a sponsor for a best costume! We would also be interested in a sponsor for a Truck and treat event for the kids, Saturday evening!
Mark your calendars
Get your rigs ready
Let's have some fun, and help two very worthy causes!
Gate fees:
$10 per person, $10 per rig for a day, or for the whole weekend!
Bring a toy, and get $10 off admission!
Kids 14 and under free, with a parent or guardian
100% of profits will go to the beneficiaries. The only thing deducted will be our expenses to put this event on.
