Join SFWDA in Pigeon Forge this weekend. Don’t miss these great guest speakers at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion

We are all set up at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion this weekend. Yesterday was a hit, with a great crowd and many smiles. But in case you missed it yesterday, we will be there all day today again!

We are right off the main entrance lobby, stop by and say Hi!

SFWDA volunteers Michael and Donald are hard at work in the SFWDA booth at GSMJI!

Come meet the SFWDA Volunteers at the main lobby and chat up local trails and experiences and learn about how you too can get more involved. Give your feet a break from the show floor and be sure to join us in Classroom #1 throughout the day for a variety of speakers you won’t want to miss!

In the classroom we have our very own Bo Rosa teaching Tread Lightly, Jake White from CartoTracks teaching Navigation, Brad Goodfellow from WARN teaching Safe Winching, Dean Shirley from Overland Adventure teaching 10 Tips for Over-landing and Dan Grec for telling us all about his adventures driving the west coast of Africa.

See you there…..

SFWDA joins Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion once again!

That’s right, our friends over at Great Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion have invited SFWDA to have a presence at this awesome event again this year.  Our SFWDA Members have volunteered to conduct training classes, moderate panel discussions and to man the SFWDA booth at this event.  Stop by our booth on August 23rd or 24th and register to win some great prizes, attend some awesome training sessions and/or participate in the Stump the Experts panel discussion.

See you there……

4LOBOUND Crew Donates $500 to support the ongoing battle of the Daniel Boone Back Country Byway

We have been holding back on a little secret we are super excited to finally share. So, before we all gather up at this Saturday for our Summer Meet & Ride to benefit an amazing cause I thought this would be an opportunity to announce another great cause. One that SFWDA has been earnest about for years now and one which just received a generous $500 donation from the 4LOBOUND crew! Together they have generated proceeds from patch and sticker sales and put it forth to hit their first goal of $500 and donated it all to SFWDA in support of the DBBB.

We at SFWDA wanted to graciously say Thank You! Thanks to everyone who has supported #4lobound and your efforts to raise money. Your donation will go a long way to support the ongoing expenses of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway. It could not have come at a better time either. In fact we are deep in a long battle to legally reclaim safe and clear passage throughout the whole planned Byway, but we could use more support.

You too can now DONATE online right here, and right now, right on our website with any computer, tablet, or smartphone. All you need is a credit card or even a Paypal account; no registration required. No minimum required. Anonymity is secure.

We appreciate your support!

We really dig the trail and we know this will go a long way to making sure that stays open.
— Thanks again, -4LOBOUND crew

Download and Print at Home.

It’s almost here. The ride people have asked for over and over is coming back again to The Cove. Come join SFWDA for our upcoming and totally free Meet & Ride through the majestic and mysterious “Coppingers Cove” July 13th. Membership not required. We will be accepting donations for A Soldiers Child Charity. This is sure to be a cool way to enjoy the trails during he heat of the summer! The best part is we’re leading varied difficulty level groups in and out with the assistance of local knowledgeable volunteer SFWDA members to make sure we see all the best stuff.

We will be meeting up at 8 AM Central at the Trials Training Center who also has RV slips, Cabins, and Primitive Camping options available. Reservations can be made for lodging direct through TTC.

Local and fellow SFWDA Club; Scenic City 4 WD Drive is hosting this event for us. This club is local to the Cove and know the trails very well. They will be our guides for the day to lead on the adventure.

There is no fee to ride these trails or attend the event. We are asking all attendees help us to contribute all proceeds in honor of A Soldiers Child Foundation. This great charity supports families of soldiers in times of need. Cash donations will be accepted directly at the event before we hit the trails at 9 AM Central.

When we do split up into groups we will divide into varying difficulty levels so that everyone who attends enjoys themselves and comes back to TTC safe and sound. After the day trip through the Cove we will return to the parking lot at TTC. A packed lunch is suggested and lots of water is required along with standard safety gear, and maybe a CB radio within your vehicle.

Last but not least. There will also be a Raffle with a variety of prizes from SPIDERWWEBSHADE and TREADLIGHTLY! .
