Recently Rock Corps 4X4 Inc had their annual Toy Run at The Flats Off Road Park in Marion NC.
To date, this was the biggest event they have hosted! We served food, had a hill climb race and ended the event with the first ever for The Flats; a Mud Sling. They also held an auction with items donated from both local, and national vendors. All told, Rock Corp 4X4 raised a lot of money, and toys! Everyone who came through the gate, with a toy, got $10 off admission.
Not only did they collect a lot of toys, several volunteers also went shopping with the auction proceeds purchasing more new toys for the local McDowell County DSS children in the foster care program. We had a great time shopping and filling the wish lists of 25 of the children in the program. That along with the toys collected at the gate will not only fill their needs, but much will bleed over into other programs that help families and children at Christmas time.
