The safety and welfare of our members and the public we serve are of top priority to the Southern Four-Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA). As we continue to monitor the latest guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the COVID-19 Pandemic, SFWDA is taking proactive measures and preventative actions to protect our members, volunteers and the public.

Effective immediately, all SFWDA events and activities are canceled.  As painful as it is for us, this includes TrailFest 2020 scheduled for May 15 – 17, 2020 at Hawk Pride Mountain Offroad Park in Tuscumbia, AL.

Existing reservations for TrailFest 2020 will be refunded in full or may be transferred to Dixie Run that is scheduled to begins Friday, October 2, 2020. You must request a transfer by contacting the SFWDA Membership Director at MEMBERSHIP@SFWDA.ORG by April 10, 2020.   Otherwise, you will be refunded your registration fee.  We look forward to TrailFest 2021 which is tentatively scheduled for April 30 – May 2, 2021.  The location of which will be announced later.

Hawk Pride Offroad Park will fully refund any fees paid to reserve an RV spot or cabin at Hawk Pride during Trailfest 2020.   Request your refund by contacting Hawk Pride by calling Phone: 256.349.4150 beforeMay 1, 2020.

These decisions are in-line with guidance from the CDC to avoid the gathering of large groups of people. SFWDA recognizes the nature of the situation surrounding COVID-19 and acknowledges these decisions may change quickly. SFWDA will provide updates when events and activities will resume.

For any other questions related to COVID-19 please contact your local Department of Health or visit the CDC’s COVID-19 web pagehttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

It is with great pride we announce our 2020-2022 Board of Directors for your Southern Four Wheel Drive Association. SFWDA is comprised of 100% volunteers and our leadership team spend a tremendous amount of time behind the scenes planning and organizing to make SFWDA the best it can be, especially our Board of Directors each serving a 2 year term. So, one small favor if I may; If you ever see these folks out on the trail or working during an event please, take a moment to stop them and say Thank You! These jobs are often underestimated and rarely commended but highly deserving of thanks.

In fact we are all currently deep in planning of Trailfest 17 now at Hawk Pride. We hope that ALL of you come out to join us at this great park. Before that though we are still seeking a venue for our Spring / Summer Meet n Ride which is being diverted from Uwharrie. If you have a park or destination in mind and know it well enough to lead a group please contact us directly. We’d like to keep these informal type events. They’ve proven to be a great way to discover new places and people together the SFWDA way.

There is always lots more to do and when it comes to volunteers, the more the merrier. So, if you have a little spare time to help support a non-profit stewardship organization who fights for public rights off road then please contact us today. There are many important positions which do not require a full commitment.
